Just some of the activities slated for this month:
Opening Day Parade with MarchFourth Marching Band, 7PM
Everyone’s invited to join in the parade from McKinley Arts and Culture Center to Wingfield Park with mobile big band spectacular MarchFourth Marching Band. If you can’t march in a wacky parade during Artown, when can you? MarchFourth comes complete with stilt walkers, hula-hoopers and a full brass section and drum corp, so be sure to give them right of way as they head in to Wingfield Park for the show.
Opening Night with Perla Batalla, 7:30PM, Wingfield Park
Be sure to get to Wingfield Park on time to catch Grammy-nominated Mexican-American singer/songwriter Perla Batalla. She’ll perform shortly after MarchFourth Marching band completes their set with contagious rhythms spreading pure joy and a unique and worldly style influenced by her Latin roots.
After Opening Night with MarchFourth Marching Band, 10PM, Knitting Factory
If you’re still up for more be sure to head over to the Knitting Factory for more MarchFourth Marching Band and their lively blend of music, dance and burlesque, marching band-style fun. Parade from Wingfield Park to the Knit with the band, or meet them there. No tickets required.
